Smaksmo Suttu, The Land of Prophecy

This a small region world (65x65) with patchwork settings (resulting in 1565 unique regions).  At year 500, it has entered the Age of Heroes which means that most or all of the megabeasts are dead.

The worldgen settings are as follows.  Note that I have installed plantfixes_0.40.13.1.rar in my raw/ folder which may affect world generation (otherwise I am using vanilla 0.40.13).

Created in DF v0.40.13.

At the start of history, there were 25 civilizations (five each of Dwarves, Elves, Goblins, Humans, Kobolds).  At year 500, one of the Dwarven civs has been wiped out (Bell of Riddling).  Three of the elven civs have been wiped out and only Innocent Hurricane and Fair Boar survive.  Humans and Goblins have fared better and all of their civs have survived to year 500.  Kobolds have done okay.

According to the world_sites_and_pops file:

Civilized World Population

7397 Dwarves
14956 Humans
10556 Elves
82695 Goblins
505 Kobolds

Total: 116109

Those are pretty normal populations for the above world generation settings.  None of the races are close to extinction even if a few civs have been wiped out.

According to the Legends Viewer, the following terrain types are present.  Note that this is just the number of regions and does not indicate percentage of area covered.  Some regions are much larger then others.

Hills: 343
Desert: 300
Forest: 293
Grassland: 286
Wetland: 245
Glacier: 37 (a darker light blue)
Mountains: 23 (grey)
Lake: 17 (medium blue)
Tundra: 16 (light blue)
Ocean: 5 (dark blue)

One of the more interesting dwarven civs is the Tool of Waxes, located in the north.

They have never been at war, have founded 18 locations, and only lost 2 of them (both to megabeasts).  What makes them interesting is that according to the trade map, they possibly have trade links to the Wickedness of Thieves goblin civilization.

Here is Wickedness of Thieves:

And the trade map:

The Wereashes Fortress (goblin, bright purple square) by the inland ocean has a link running northeast to the dwarven fortress, Drilledguilds, Interestingly, Drilledguilds has a population listing 108 goblins and 107 dwarves.  According to the site history, both goblins and dwarves have settled there and both have settled, got a job, married, had children.  Some goblins have even migrated to other linked dwarven locations.

So in terms of fortress civilizations, it might be interesting to start as belonging to the Tool of Waxes.
