Tail end of winter 405, a minotaur arrives and attacks the fortress.  Two of the dwarves did not make it inside and were killed (one by the raising drawbridge, the other by the beast).

There was a third dwarf outside.  'Hunter' Onuzolak, armed with not much more then a wooden crossbow and wooden bolts.  The minotaur was passed out due to over-exertion after fighting with the yak for a few days.

The minotaur is not doing well at this point.

Due to the weapon of choice being a wooden crossbow, this is going to be a long battle.  And if the minotaur wakes up, it may be a short battle for the hunter.  And, no such luck.  Perhaps with a metal crossbow things might have turned out differently once he ran out of ammo.

23rd Felsite - Eral Lelumnish gives birth to a baby boy.  And the minotaur is still wandering around outside.  I have engraved slabs for the three dwarves who were killed outside.  One of them was a father (Stakud) married to Eral.  So she must have been pregnant when Stakud was killed outside.

26th Felsite - The minotaur finally wandered across one of the serrated disc traps and got killed.

9th Malachite - Lokum Dalzatasmel gives birth to a baby boy.

1st Limestone - Start of autumn, fortress has 81 dwarves.  Work continues on putting up more traps around the area as well as making the dry moat at least 2Z deep.  There was an aborted attempt to make it 3Z deep, but we found an aquifer and now part of the dry moat is a wet moat.

17th Limestone - Trade caravan arrives.  Ordering spiked wood balls, glass discs and dwarven wine brought to the trade depot.  Also worn out clothing and some things like bracelets and knick-knacks.

2nd Sandstone - First trade was 235k of goods in exchange for cloth, leather plus iron/steel/copper/bronze items with about a 55k profit to the caravan.

19th Sandstone - Mebzuth Fikukcerol gives birth to a boy.

(Fort FPS is down to about 15-20 with 82 dwarves.  I've learned enough from this iteration that I'm going to regen the world.)
